Once upon a time there way a six-year-old girl taking a walk with her best friend, a black, toy poodle named “Noodles”. Noodles looked a little like this:
To make a horrible story short, a Doberman became loose and attacked my bff and that was it for noodles. Here’s a cute picture of a Doberman – no hard feelings.
I was hysterical but I remember my life changed at that moment. I’ve had several in my life that have really formed me into becoming an entrepreneur.
Anyway, my father stood before me as I cried, kneeled before me and said “It’s time you learn a really important lesson in life, Tara.”
I continued sniffily probably just wanting a hug.
My dad took me by the shoulders and said, “Life isn’t fair.”
There was an echo in my little ears. The memories of events passed before me again and I understood. Straight I stood with my shoulders back and head up. My future wasn’t going to be fair and to expect it was to live a life of ignorant regret.
Therefore I move forward with all passion, integrity and compassion possible looking forward to what loops life throws at me.
How does this apply to being an entrepreneur? I have loved my businesses with everything in me. To make it good, it takes time to nurture and care for it much like having a child. My customers and users become so close because I know them that well. I want to. It’s my responsibility.
However, I’ve also seen death in business. Death of a dream. Watched a site come down or doors close for the last time.
There was an echo in my ears. The memories of events passed before me again and I understood. Straight I stood with my shoulders back and head up. My future isn’t fair and I live a life of daring awareness. ARE YOU? LEAVE COMMENTS BELOW!
